How to differentiate one's self in a facebook electronic world of immediate intimacy and disposable counterparts where we all seek much the same ?
Sociable and curious, I'm just looking to be happy doing pleasant things as a couple. I like travelling, dining with friends, enjoy cinema, theatre, walking. I play sport on a sociable level, cricket, golf and like cycling. I am fit and active, yet gyms easily bore me !
I prefer to make my home comfortable and presentable although regularly getting out of London to the countryside or coast is important, and invariably accompanied by the camera.
I've been lucky enough to live and work in the US and Hong Kong in the past and adventurous holidays are important. In recent holidays I have cycled 980 miles from St Malo to Nice in 19 days and in regular times ( ! ) spend a week each year cycling in Provence with a group of friends. I am a keen "hobbyist" photographer often make progressive photography the focus of my travel plans. In common with gap year students, for photographers there's an established route that takes in Namibia Iceland, Tuscany, India, Cuba and Costa Rica etc.
Had Covid not interrupted plans, the horses of the Camargue and Zanzibar were scheduled for 2020. As it happens, I managed a trip to South Africa in February and my other sole achievement for the year was gaining my first Royal Photographic Society distinction ( LRPS ) before the epidemic bit.
Mid-life previously posed a few challenges, but I feel I've re-booted both personal and working life and feel comfortable in my own skin. Ostensibly cool and analytical, a warm heart and dry sense of humour lies within. I think it important to listen, be emotionally articulate and to work at relationships. I am not judgemental and believe in neither matching clones or polar opposites. Its an elusive mix, but common ground in forming a friendship is a constructive start and the answers to the "meaning of life" conundrum must surely be finding ways to give meaning to one's life.

Perhaps difficult to describe but apparent when found....these tick-box methods of meeting make us all sound very similar...and why not, its nice to travel and have dinner with friends etc. There are many nice things to be done as part of a couple.
Just someone pleasant and normal. The best things in life aren't "things", they are experiences and relationships. I would suggest open mindedness rather than an "ideal match" and a willingness to work at any relationship, and to be understanding and mutually supportive are what matters. I'd prefer a lady with interests of her own, emotional awareness and motivation, the best combination is perhaps a degree of mutual interests and a willingness to try new experiences. Intelligence and articulation invariably show through and are unlikely to be represented in text-speak and internet patois ! I could never relate to anyone who wasn't kind to animals.
