About him
I have always believed that it's not where you are or what you are doing that is important, but with whom you are with sharing the experiences. I continue to enjoy my work as a Maritime Arbitrator which provides me with a comfortable lifestyle and the flexibility to do many other things, but it's really not much fun doing things on my own. I live "between the shore and the moor" and enjoy being afloat and out in the countryside with my spaniels, although I also still enjoy many elements of City life. These days I mostly work from home in Devon with occasional trips to London. I doubt that I am unique in saying that I like eating, drinking and entertainment: simply put, I like enjoying myself and being happy! I am a keen grandfather to my 8 year old grandson and 6 year old granddaughter (albeit that they are 300 miles away!) and I take great pleasure in my family and friends (again not a unique quality). Honesty, integrity and loyalty are personal qualities that I consider to extremely important in both myself and my friends, and most definitely in a partner.

I am looking for a lady for all seasons: someone who is as happy paddling a canoe on the river in the pouring rain as attending a white-tie banquet in the City; Someone with a "get-up-and-go" personality who enjoys physical activities (and will motivate me to do more!) as well as enjoying both evenings out and quieter times; Someone with a positive outlook who shares my wish to have fun but also shares my sense of duty and responsibility to put back into our society; Someone organised and sensible but with a keen sense of adventure; Someone who understands the challenges of being widowed and losing someone you loved.
