About her
I'd far sooner tell you about me should we ever speak or meet in person, but I shall attempt to give you a reasonably brief flavour of who I am right now.
I can be quite shy and introvert initially, but once I get to know people, I am generally very open, relaxed and likely to show the humerous side to my personality. If I'm lucky enough to meet someone special, I am also very nurturing and romantic.
My friends tell me I'm honest, articulate, gentle, genuine, loyal and kind hearted. I guess my friends are also very similar, which is probably why I have several strong friendships that date back to my primary school days.
In the last four years I’ve made some big changes to my life. I have downsized my home so I can be mortgage free and now live in a house overlooking a canal and enjoying the wonderful wildlife and boat life that goes with a location like this. I intend staying in the North West of England, unless someone steers my heart in another direction.
I have been reasonably well travelled over the years, but I guess if I'm honest, home is probably where I'm happiest, and a place I currently share with one adorable cat and my rescue toy poodle.
Music and art are both important aspects of my life and I couldn’t live without either. I love a wide range of music from classical to current artists and I used to play the piano, though not very well!
I attended a weekly art class for many years, which I valued greatly. Although I no longer go to those classes, I still do art whenever possible and I really enjoy the sense of relaxation that creating art seems to evoke.
On a much more personal note, and at the risk of sounding somewhat old fashioned, I am still optimistic that somewhere out there, a wonderful woman exists who is wanting to walk hand in hand through the highs and lows of life with me - someone who is happy to share in the small stuff and the big stuff of life on this wonderful planet.

Perhaps my choice of headline sums it up reasonably well, in that gentleness, integrity and loyalty are all traits I value very highly in a partner.
Another characteristic I seek from a partner, is that of honesty. Not in a brutal or tactless form, but an honesty deriving from being genuine and open with your feelings.
Actually expressing what I'm looking for in a partner is actually quite hard to convey. I guess that's because feelings and chemistry ultimately tend to override any set ideas I may have.
Ultimately, we may think we know what we want from a partner, but life has frequently taught me that it is far better to remain open about what we're looking for in someone else. Perhaps this is especially so, now that I'm seeking a life partner.
