About him
I moved to Exmouth just over 4 years ago & have been busy exploring and living my new adventure and now feel very settled and pleased with the decision to relocate. That so many wonderful places are within a short distance continues to fill me with excitement.
I have a very wide range of interests and activities to keep me engaged whatever the weather, many of them are outdoor orientated and wind, wave or human powered. I'm especially keen on kitesurfing and go year round in the UK whatever the weather, so long as there is sufficient wind. I've sailed different types of craft since early childhood. In the last year I have learned to wingsurf, which has felt at times like a Royal Marines' boot camp. However I'm up and riding on the hydrofoil now.
The outdoors appeals greatly and I frequently see magical moments when out with my camera. Photography has been an interest for many years and my full-time profession for the last 9 of them. Friends and clients are happy to see the results after they've got out of bed! Prior to this I taught Maths in Secondary schools & before that was a Chartered Engineer working in Aerospace, some of which was serving in the Royal Navy. I am an early bird, but capable of burning the candle at both ends.
I've two children, for whom I've done the majority of their parenting. I've thoroughly loved doing this and relished trying to lead them astray and lose their inherent risk aversion tendencies... I might have failed, but at least I tried - in the same way that I endeavoured to teach my daughter Bhuna as her first word.
Both have now graduated and making their way in their professions.
I'm trying to use the extra time I now have positively and creatively. The TV is off far more days than those when it's on for me to watch an occasional programme, probably rugby with the Chiefs.
Music, especially live is something I love and used to go to gigs fairly regularly and much prefer small venues. Keen to recommence this.

I am independent and get things done with aplomb. Whilst very self-less, I prefer a two-way street and sharing. Thus I'm seeking a lively, intelligent and active someone who is initially happy to see how things develop, but with perhaps one eye looking to ultimately form a long-term partnership based on equality.
