About her
I have a positive outlook on life and try to find humour in most situations. Friendly, down-to-earth and generally easy-going, I'm good company, though don't always take myself too seriously and have a definite mischievous streak. I'm always inquisitive about things going on around me and I enjoy meeting new people and learning new things.
I enjoy my London life and the fact that there is so much to see and do right on my doorstep which allows for a good mix of organisation and spontaneity. Some things that I enjoy include: exploring the city; visits to museums to galleries; Sunday trips to Columbia Road; taking photos; history; browsing in bookshops (no more book buying though as I have far too many to read!); foreign languages; and people watching. I guess I'm a country girl at heart though, and I really appreciate time spent out of the city at weekends visiting friends and family, and I generally enjoy spending time outdoors in the fresh air.
Travel has always been part of my life and I have had many adventures over the years, especially in Africa and Asia. I was born in South Africa, came back to England when little, lived in Texas for a few years as a child and I spent some time living in Italy whilst at uni. I try to return to Rome regularly to catch up with friends and be reminded of the Italian way of life. Recent holidays have been spent in NYC, Laos and Myanmar. Where next?
Some more things about me - I'd always choose independent travel over package holidays; pubs over cool bars; dogs over cats; exercise outdoors over a trip to the gym; books over Kindle; bikram over hatha; and, definitely coffee over tea.
About her ideal match
You can't glean a huge amount about a person through limited words and photos alone. In my case, I'm always happier behind the camera rather than in front of it, and have never been one to sing my own praises, so I hope that this doesn't put me at a disadvantage on the starting line... Certainly there's a lot more to me than first meets the eye... and I expect that's the same for you...
I think that I'm looking for someone who is easy-going, inquisitive and positive, who challenges me and makes me laugh; probably someone who won't take himself too seriously, who will be completely daft at times and... generally bring the best out in me. I may be looking for someone very different though - as we all know, it always comes down to chemistry in the end.
