About her
My natural inclination is to the left. I support Greenpeace and Amnesty. I am a mother to a grown son and once step-mother to two daughters.
I smoke. I drink. I don't have all my own teeth. As a natural redhead I suffered all the usual taunts and insults in my youth but who's laughing now? It seems that redheads don't go grey, we fade out to strawberry blonde so are spared the agonies of the - to dye or not to dye - question. Who's the ginger minger now, Greybeard? I need glasses for reading - years of hours spent at the computer peering at spreadsheets is not the answer to 20:20 vision. But I don't mind so much as it means I can only see part of the whole story of the invasion of the superfluous body hair that seems to be a rite of menopausal passage. When at purberty I founce my first pubic hair, I tried to brush it off as thought it was a dog hair. Now when I myopically peer at myself and find hairs in unusual places, I take the dog outside and brush her.
I am an omnivore. My love of offal was the eventual death knell to my vegetarianism. I love to cook and I love to eat good food. I can be critical in restaurants but equally effusive in my praise when orally sated. I don't like celery or rhubarb although I will use the former in a mirepoix and am a great believer in the power of herbs and spices for well-being and healing.
I am alone but happy enough in my own company to not be lonely. Being on one's own so much of the time inevitably makes social interaction that much harder when it does happen, so I need to get back out there and socialise before my first language becomes dog. I tried going out by myself (with dog for back up) but found it dispiriting. I like to go & see bands with friends. I am a sucker for a thrashing guitar & dancing always puts a smile on my face. I hike the hills of Exmoor with my chunky Staffie/Lab X and take mainly rubbish photos of fungi & ferns. I like to forage.

If I knew what my "ideal match" was, would I be on this site at the age of 54? I clearly have absolutely no idea!
If there is anyone out there who would like to go out with a myopically challenged, hairy redhead to eat offal and see a band, I would be thrilled to hear from you. All I ask in return is a degree of politeness, basic table manners, a kind heart and a non-judgmental disposition. Racists, misogynists, homophobes and global warming nay sayers, need not apply.
Any photos attached here will - naturally - be the ones accidently taken in a flattering light or slightly out of focus where I think I look better and younger than I do in real life. They will, however, be genuine and taken in the last few months.
