About him
My main profile photo was taken in January 2023 following the funeral of one of my greatest friends - a day of sadness, yes, but also a day full of laughter and shared happy memories, and the two photos in front of the wall full of brass plates were taken in our local pub on an evening of laughter with friends a couple of months previously.
Writing jokes, laughing, dining out, theatre, laughing with friends, classical music, watching rugby and horse racing, laughing - that's me . . . . .oh, and trying to be laid back about life without succeeding!
I've been on my own for most of the last fifteen years since losing my wife to cancer. I've spent a lot of the intervening time helping some very good friends looking after handicapped young adults, being involved in horse racing and writing - writing jokes, writing humorous magazine articles, writing comedy - you get the picture!
I like to swim a mile or two every week to keep myself reasonably fit and healthy - but only just back swimming short distances occasionally - not going to push things too fast!
I've often been told in the past that I'm a kind, caring, loving and tactile person. Mind you, I've also been told that I'm rather untidy and that I snore - what to believe?

I'm wondering if I can find someone to share whatever adventure life comes up with next? I'm not looking for someone who's perfect - but I'd like to meet someone who's perfect for me! A friend, a companion, a lover - someone to laugh with and to hold my hand as we leap together into that great unknown, the future.
I can offer friendship and fun, laughter and loyalty - and who knows what might follow from those?
