Cruising, while a great adventure with huge rewards, is often scary, frustrating, difficult, and can make you feel ill (I feel wasted in marketing). In short, it is not for everyone, particularly home people and pet owners. There, you have been warned.
You are checking out an honest, solvent property owner, reasonably fit, who doesn't smell (well, only of Aramis). Have all own joints, no tattoos or football shirt.
I sold up everything to buy a liveaboard yacht to sail away on and have been out for eight years now.
I cruised to the Azores for three months in 2018 but once I got there could see no reason to return. Because of Schengen rules my Moody 376 is in Greece while I winter in Portugal's Algarve.
I am now heading back to the Algarve.
The joy of new places, a blisteringly good sunset, a dazzling night sky, dolphins and whales all day, is wasted on just me. I would prefer to share them with someone I adored and respected over a tinny or glass of wine. I also have a nice aft cabin, which ultimately I would like to share too.
I really do have a sense of humour.

Not just after one thing, but it is important.
Too easily hurt, and I don't mean stubbing toes on cleats.
I'm mostly retired now and just run boats on the odd media filming jobs (Poldark, One Show, Top Gear) and writing articles for yachtie mags (I'm an ex-journalist, among other things).
I take huge pleasure from cooking and entertaining.
I last worked in Plymouth's central library for pin money. In other words staying in the warm with no heavy lifting and being paid for the privilege.
My lady friends describe me as courteous, mannerly, easy going and not too ugly. At least, to my face and when they have had a few.

A best friend who laughs helplessly with me, says yes as a default, tougher than nails, softer than the touch of a petal.
Intelligence, manners, courtesy, honesty - oh, and looks - mean a great deal.
Next to your killer heels will be walking boots, sea boots, cycle helmet and flip flops; next to that gown some Goretex.
You can turn on the sophistication when required but just as happy with little make-up and wind and wave dictating your hair style.
