About her
I was widowed in 2003 after nearly 25yrs of marriage and having enjoyed a few years of travelling, meeting different people and dating some and I now feel ready to look for a long-term relationship.
I am very much an outdoor person. I like to keep active mentally and physically, love travelling and learning about different cultures and languages (I'm only fluent in English!), walking, photography, sailing ,camping, cinema, dancing (free-style!), listening to music (mostly rock), crosswords, gardening, driving and trying new activities.(eg scuba, gliding, ballooning) I like football! I am totally non-materialistic.
I'm a Christian and attend a contemporary Anglican church and I have done 2 stints of voluntary work -in India and Tanzania for 2-3 months each- which was very rewarding. I retired in 2018 from my job as a general practice nurse but still do bookkeeping part time for my son’s haulage agency. I would like to travel more and to see more of the East, Africa, Canada and Australia/New Zealand as well as continue to sail in Greece. I enjoy creative cooking (especially for appreciative consumers!) but dislike routine. I'll do almost anything to avoid housework!
I have 3 grown and flown children and 2 gorgeous grandchildren .
I'm hoping to meet someone who can be a friend first but hopefully with chemistry something long-term might develop.

How can I describe someone I've yet to meet!? Well ideally he'll be physically and mentally active outdoors-loving man who enjoys trying new and varied activities, intelligent but not too serious, not stuck in the past (I love modern music, enjoyed the 60s, 70s etc but have moved on), solvent but not materialistic. As I am a bit untidy he needs to be able to cope with that- I do try but just can't get the hang of being a perfect housewife- life is too short! A walker with a love of travelling to warm places and finding out about different cultures and cuisines would be good too. Fidelity, honesty and openness are essential qualities for me but confidence, spontaneity and a sense of fun are what really attract me.
