About her
I'm happily single with many friends and three adult children who although totally independent still form an important part of my life. I love both the city and the countryside and living on the outskirts of London means I'm in easy reach of both. I go to the cinema often, the theatre and classical concerts too, visit galleries whenever there is a new exhibition but sometimes just to look at one painting, but have to confess to guiltily enjoying the occasional junk TV evening. I love current affairs, going out to eat with friends, and music from Opera to Country & Western via everything in between. Sometimes though nothing beats just putting on wellies and going for a long walk miles from anywhere. Having lived abroad on and off over the years I still love to travel a lot and widely, Active sport isn't a major part of my life although I play golf (badly) and ski (not much better). I cook (reasonably well), walk (uphill and down), read (eclectically) but most of all I enjoy people. Now home for good and divorced for several years after being married for 30, I love my independence and enjoy every day, but I'd love to find that special someone to share the happiness of having got this far but of still having plenty places to go and things to do.

Hmmmm ... A really good sense of humour is key and being empathetic enough to understand and care how others feel while not taking anything too seriously. You are probably as fascinated as I am by international as well as domestic current affairs and you have to really LOVE travelling. Ive been on the move all my adult life and lockdown has been really hard as my feet have itched continually. But you really care about how those around you feel too although you've given up arguing with brexiteers and anti-vaxers as they aren't going to change their minds and neither are you. You probably enjoy reading and need a bit of Radio 4 or Times Radio but most of all you love people; you probably like cinema and theatre too; you like art and classical music but still remember the words of songs from the 70s which sometimes appear like earworms from unlikely triggers; you have a passion for travel to far flung places, aren't dependent on the best hotels but preferably keep away from canvas; you like to walk long distances taking in the view en route but if you like to run you have to know I wont be jogging along beside you; you'd not mind me playing excruciatingly bad golf from time to time , but that is probably pushing my luck and anyway for me golf is an excuse to be outdoors rather than a tartan bobble-hatted lifestyle. Pushing my luck you might also still like to ski which I've done all my life. And finally you will hopefully like having friends over for supper (I'm happy to do the cooking although great if you cook too) and being entertained by interesting people with views to share. And if like me you have got a raft of grandchildren you will be dotty about them. That should just about do it - ahh, creating wishlists. It is a bit unlikely that you are actually out there but there's a streak of Pollyanna in me and if you've seen through the words and smiled at some of the above perhaps there might be a connection......
