About him
I am an ex Merchant Navy Officer and now retired. Since my divorce I have lived on a barge. I suppose I am rather shy (but not painfully !) until I know somebody, however I do have a subtle, and what has often been described as a wicked sense of humour. I enjoy the outdoors, and my ideal holidays are spent on a beach in the sun. I am, after 35 years at sea, very well travelled. Naturally my interests are mainly nautical, but I am interested in history, reading, art. classical music, trad jazz, big band sound and rock and roll, I am a very loyal person. I have three youngish sons who all visit the boat regularly (And use my "taxi service" to airports etc). I am generally well turned out, but jeans, shorts, T shirts suffice in and around my barge. After leaving the sea, I worked in an electronic installation company, and then in the control room of a Secure Training Centre for wayward young persons. I am writing a book, and other hobbies include model boat building (of which I have many unfinished !). I am reasonably well educated, (Grammar School, Crammers and College).
