About him
I've been on 'Encounters' for a while now, met some nice women but unfortunately no lasting romance.
One female friend that I'd recently met said to me: 'You need to sell yourself more my dear. Compared to some men that I've met on this site you've got a lot going for you. You're honest, kind hearted and not bad looking'. As I'm a salesman I was surprised that I hadn't thought of that one!
I am a widower but after a number of years I'm now in a really good place. However, I still miss the little things with that someone special: sharing a meal, adult conversation, going on a romantic trip or doing an activity together.
With two grown up children, life can be busy but also very rewarding. I have a successful career and work hard but have tried to strike a decent work/life balance. Since my partner's death I've changed a lot. I am certainly less selfish, more thoughtful and considerate.
My friend said that I'm not bad for 53 going on 54. I've still got my own hair, am slim but athletic (I run and keep fit), have decent skin and I'm well groomed.
Pleasures are: country walks, chilling out in a cafe/pub with a good book or friends, and the cinema. I love movies, anything from Arthouse to the latest Disney! With that special someone I'd also have a great excuse to eat out more and go dancing. Somehow these particular activities aren't so much fun on your own!
My education was good, graduating with a sports degree from Brighton University in 2000. I would therefore like to think of myself as intelligent, well read and articulate.
I'm also an optimist that loves life and is easily pleased by the simple things that it has to offer. My mantra is 'think before speaking', and my friends would say that I am a caring and gentle man who values friendships and is not afraid to show love and emotion.
