I love skiing - for the sense of achievement I feel at the end of every day, & for the fresh air, gluhwein, woolly jumpers & Europop, and snowball fighting with my son (when he is not away at school).
l recently organised my bookshelves by colour just to see if anyone noticed (everyone did) but it's only an illusion of order - they're a glorious mishmash of every subject under the sun: Richard Thaler and Charles Schultz are favourites, plus the Economist, UK/US politics, history, biography, gender critical feminism. I like people talk about economics and politics in a thoughtful, informed way - not dogmatic or aggressive.
Never got the point of Harry Potter, but do think Mitchell & Webb in "Ambassadors" are genius. I destress by playing the piano and love listening to Sibelius & Strauss (R), and Mozart piano concertos, and obscure Vivaldi. (If it’s possible to have a crush on an orchestra, I’ve got one on the Berlin Phil...).
I am very independent and have had lots of adventures around the world - it would be nice to have someone to have more with.
Just to manage expectations though, I’m absolutely not a cruise passenger, selfie-stick snapper or coachtrip taker... my ideal of hell is Madame Tussaud’s. If the herd is thundering one way, I’m going the other way... where the ocean’s blue, not red...
