About her
I wonder how many hours, and how much agony goes into writing these "mission statements"? how to sound interesting and appealing, without being over inflated? Well here's a stab at mine...
I know my friends would describe me as being intelligent and attractive, but I find it quite hard to say it about myself. I used to be a doctor, but foundered on the rocks of the NHS and moved to calmer waters. I now work in the psychological services.
I love to talk: life, the universe and everything, psychology and spirituality. My sense of humour tends towards the ridiculous. I have a meditation practice which is immensely important in maintaining sanity. I would hope that that might be seen as an intelligent thing to do, rather than totally weird. .
Music is important: my tastes are fairly eclectic, but if I were stuck on a Desert Island it would be mostly classical. I enjoy my flute playing (others might not) and sing in a local choir.
I read a lot and fairly widely. Fiction mainly. Terry Pratchett is a favourite in times of stress. I am not as well informed about current affairs as I probably should be. I love to be outside in the country. I walk a lot, accompanied by a rather loopy dog, who is good on unconditional love, rather short on conversation. I swim and cycle occasionally
I have two brilliant children, who have been the most important thing in my life for the last 27 years. They are now rarely at home, which has been somewhat challenging, and has necessitated a certain amount of maternal reinvention.
I am looking for someone to have fun and adventures with. To laugh a lot. To enjoy long rambling conversations, and companionable silences. To explore new horizons. Travel. Passion would be great too, though one step at a time.

It sounds rather obvious, but my ideal match would be kind, intelligent, funny, honest, caring and empathic.
Someone who enjoys nature and the outdoors. As far as other interests are concerned, I'm not terribly bothered what they are. I am very happy to widen my horizons.
