About him
I have an optimistic personality, a lively sense of humour and a generous nature, I'm also patient, sensitive and a good listener. Some friends describe me as being eccentric! - that is probably due to my drama background and ability to mix with all kinds of people, and feeling comfortable in different environments. I enjoy reading, food, cooking, wine and the Arts, especially opera, world music and jazz. I also like theatre and concerts. My home is the family farm on the edge of the Cotswolds and I run a specialized food business from the farm. I have a large garden and especially like growing vegetables - the flower garden is now somewhat neglected!
I like visiting and exploring historic sites like castles and cathedrals - also NT gardens.
Widowed after 30 years of marriage my late wife and I had a robust and passionate marriage, with lots of laughter and excitement. After a period of grieving, and with more time and resources I would like to meet someone for a complete and fulfilling relationship.
I am a keen traveller but prefer organising my own itinerary and going to places away from the usual tourist areas, where the real character of the environment and people can be experienced. Most of my travels are food, wine or cultural orientated and I have a great affinity for Spain where I lived for a short time and often visit.

I would like to met a person who I can share with my passions and experiences - also learn new ones. I am looking for someone who is lively, sensitive, generous, wants to be loved and able to give love, and just very human! A person who is natural, perhaps with a dash of sophistication and who definitely likes the Arts, the outdoors and exploring! Integrity, tolerance compassion and the ability to compromise would be essential qualities. A love of food and wine, and travelling (especially off the beaten track in Spain) and a person with a practical disposition would be assets, also someone who can cope with an element of eccentricity and spontaneity - this all sounds very prescriptive but we were asked to write about our ideal match!
A sense of humour is important, and the ability to stimulate each other (in many different ways!) vital.
