I have a level and good-natured temperament and try to be kind and polite to everyone. I like to be helpful and have some useful DIY skills. I have been spending a lot of time doing up my house, and have recently started to find time for gardening.
I spent my career financing major projects around the world. I retired some time ago and am now heavily involved as a member of local councils. It's a form of voluntary work!
I am still keen to travel, but of course one needs the right companion! Also I have done a lot of yacht charters in different parts of the world.
My ideal evening would be a good meal in an old pub restaurant. Followed, of course by curling up with that same special person. An ideal weekend away would involve more of the same, plus other interesting activities such as visiting places, going for walks, seeing wildlife etc.

I am looking for a lovely woman with a warm character who will love and be loved by me. Someone with whom to enjoy spending time together and doing more or less anything - I'm happy to try new things.
I am not at all interested in controlling someone, but at the same time I don't want to be ordered about myself either! I recognize the need to make compromises for the sake of a successful relationship. I am looking for a long term relationship, so we have time to enjoy getting to know each other.
