About him
My main interests are sport (pretty much all of them and both participating and watching), reading, travel, the opera, current affairs, scottish dancing / reeling and eating out. I love being outdoors and outdoor pursuits (biking, camping, hiking, skiing, watersports - in fact pretty much anything and everything) but at the same time enjoyed living in London and the wide array of more cultural activites there.
I am very keen on experiencing new things and have a 'try anything once' approach to life.
Friends accuse me of being old fashioned and eccentric at times - I however consider these qualities.
Whilst having spent the first thirty or so years of my life in London I have spent two years in Kazakhstan and then the past two years in Mongolia. I remain the 'poster boy' for 'modern Almaty' although quite why they want a hungover expat, cyclying in Timberlands, tailored shorts and rugby socks carrying golf clubs in a hockey bag I shall never know - see Wikipedia if interested.
I have spent the past 18 months climbing the 7 Summits (highest peak on each continent) and skiing to the North and South poles (the Explorers Grand Slam) and have recently returned to London to re establish myself here and get back to a 'normal' life.
