About her
Here goes . . . I can be a little reserved at first but once you get to know me I am warm, friendly, sensitive and caring. I am also very loyal.
I like the outdoor life and animals - my life currently involves a cat, dog and until recently a horse - although I didn't do the riding (strange how as I've got older I've lost my nerve on some things?!). I also like the cinema, theatre, concerts, meals out etc. (although not done a lot of these over recent years as finding the time has been difficult!).
In a former life I have lived overseas and travelled a fair bit - but recently I've settled for a week's skiing and a few mini-trips here and there. Would love to have someone special to do more travelling with!
I believe quite strongly in the power of positive thinking - and like to think I have quite an optimistic outlook on life. I'm currently trying to put this into practice by visualising a wonderful future with a true friend who makes my life special and vice-versa. I definitely want to increase the fun-factor in my life!
I love to try new things - been re-activating my knowledge of Italian for a couple of years now (pretty keen on most things Italian!) and also dabbled in Am Dram (I'm terrible!). When I get the motivation I head for the swimming pool to try and fight the effects of chocolate - and I'm grateful to my lovely dog for making me walk twice a day. And in such a lovely part of the world!
I've got a lot of smiles, laughter (giggles?), mad moments, wild dancing (can hold back on this if you prefer!), walks, conversation, cuddles, caring still to be shared - and a lot to learn so if you know 'stuff' I'll be an avid listener. That is, unless you like the sound of your own voice TOO much!
Most people seem to be pretty surprised when they find out my age - I'm told I look quite a bit younger - and I know I both feel and act it!). One thing I must say though is that I'm definitely NOT photogenic - I'm told I'm completely different in the flesh!

Definitely a sense of humour please! And someone who doesn't take himself too seriously. It would be good if you're young for your years - growing old disgracefully much more attractive than pipe and slippers!
Obviously it would be lovely to have that feeling of 'instant connection', but I know that sometimes it can take a bit of time. I don't feel I'm in a hurry . . .
