About him
I am relatively laid back these days after a fairly challenging career, and after reducing days in a consultant capacity, am now fully retired. I have substituted with some unpaid flexible work in the health sector.
I am widowed and have 2 children. A daughter who has given me 3 grandchildren, and a son who lives in Devon.
I have travelled a lot with business but plan to do some more in a more leisurely manner, COVID permitting.
Relationships. I think I am a warm and responsive person to those I love. I believe it is all about core values and strength of character that drives respect for one another. The superficial issues - by that I mean on the surface day to day, not unimportant - can be discussed and dealt with, making it possible to do things together but at the same time preserving independence. Phew - a bit heavy!
I like a balance. There is a time to be active and driven and a time to relax and chill (reading, music, television). Occasionally concerts, Symphony Hall is a great venue
I enjoy a quality beer in a country pub but also like good restaurants.
Tolerably good cook.
Tend to dress casually smart, can do formal smart but not keen on dinner jackets. It is probably the event that demands it that puts me off, but have been persuaded!!
My main picture is 2 to 3 years old and the one in the jacket probably 5, but the clearest and most representative and I dont think I have changed much. I am probably a stone overweight. Had a shoulder op a while back and more recently cataracts but not falling apart yet and still do the gym but substituted with a lot of walking at the moment.
Reading the above sounds like I am humourless - absolutely not the case, no substitute for a good laugh, simple, dry or irreverent.

Difficult because it really is all about the chemistry which dictates your responsiveness. The check list is only the start point.
How can you specify hair colour when the person who will make you feel good and be fun company does not have that colour?
Ok, to the point. Needs to be someone who has some drive either in a job or hobby. Not obsessed but enough to value, enjoy and look forward to our time together. A degree of independence is healthy in my view.
To talk and listen in equal measure and have hysterical moments.
A strong character with inner softness and empathy.
