About him
I am an easy going divorced man who loves work, driving and sport especially horse racing. My friends would describe me as laid back, modest and unassuming which disguises someone who is a very intelligent, hard working, generous and a loyal person. As well as loving horse racing I also enjoy all kinds of music, drama and love reading biographies especially of people for whom I've a great admiration. As hobbies I like to attempt a bit of DIY with varying results from wonderful to abject failure. I also enjoy keeping fit and up to recently went to the gym 4 or 5 times per week; I enjoy country walks and I also run 5km or less 3 or 4 times a week and have run Parkrun on a regular basis. I enjoy gardening but that only extends to mowing the lawn and cultivating some flowers in border beds. I have a good sense of humour and don't take myself too seriously. I dislike bad manners, rudeness, bad drivers and people who place too much emphasis on materialistic aspects of life. I like people who are generous and I treat everyone the same immaterial of their occupation race or gender. Due to my constant driving I drink only on special occasions and I can arrange transport. I don't smoke but I did in my younger years and I gave up overnight many years ago. I go to a few major music concerts a year at either the Royal Albert Hall or the O2; in recent years I've seen The Rolling Stones, Richard Thompson, Mark Knopfler and Leonard Cohen; that gives you an idea of my taste. or like of taste, in music. I attend a few top horse races a year at Ascot, Sandown and Cheltenham. I was wearing glasses but recently took the plunge and had lens replacement and it is wonderful not wearing glasses; the best investment I have ever made. My ideal partner would be someone with similar interests and outlook on life as myself but not someone who is the same as I think if we had too many things in common it could be a fairly boring partnership; friendship etc. She needs to be someone who takes pride in her own appearance, health and fitness, and I don't mean a gym bunny. I like a woman who is comfortable with her body image and is feminine and who likes to be treated like a woman and who does not object to doors been opened for them or for a man to offer her a seat on the train etc. I do not like smokers and I could not date a smoker.
