Food - Steak Tartare. With chips. And mayonnaise .Or bacon sarnies (white bread, butter,no ketchup). Langoustines. Spaghetti alle vongole. Scallops with black pudding.......
Drink - Roederer, Pinot Noir, Guinness, P.G.Tips ( milk,no sugar).
Books - John Le Carre,The Raj Quartet, Christopher Hitchens, Elizabeth David, Browning, Italian Noir.
Music - Diana Krall, Glenn Gould playing Brahms, Faure Requiem, Piazolla's Oblivion, Nina Simone, Pink Martini, St. John Passion.....
Holiday - Anywhere in Italy, but preferably Rome.
Sport - Rugby, but only to watch.
Don't drive, can't whistle or click my fingers, never been in a gym in my life (although you wouldn't believe it!)
Hate : Radio 1, bad grammar, Baileys, package holidays, xenophobia, moths, Creationism, Tesco, moustaches, rude waiters, Ryan Air, chick-lit.
Love : pottering, dancing Argentine tango, sexy French cheese, I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, linen sheets, my garden, shoes, Borough Market, Italy, theatre, really good icecream, sleep.
Pastime of choice : spending time with people I really like, talking about food or books or theatre, in my pyjamas.
Work: I'm a freelance theatrical costume-maker, working mostly in opera. Absolutely not fancy dress!
Best feature: my figure - slim but very curvy, with long wavy fair hair.
Worst feature: I'm horribly untidy.
Talents: making hollandaise sauce, speaking Italian, killing slugs, eating artichokes, stripping paintwork.
Bad at: Ball games, flower arranging, work/life balance, technical stuff.

You should also know that my own mother describes me as an eccentric, that I've recently bought a house in Italy with stunning views but no plumbing, and that I was thrown out of the Brownies.
