I love great conversation, give and take, a good giggle, and sharing new experiences with someone else.
Am happy to walk up a hill, wander round a garden, or simply sit and enjoy the view. If we find a beach, I'll swim or sail off it, ride or stroll along it, but won't waste time taking selfies on it. I've travelled a lot, and now especially love exploring the UK, plus I'm semi-retired so my work life’s flexible. If there’s a concert, let’s get tickets. I'm up for classical, ballet, folk, opera, big-band swing, or a musical. In fact as long as it's not tiddly-diddly free-form jazz (sorry, you’re on your own there), count me in. If a place name sounds intriguing, let’s go check it out. If there’s a weird museum or a forgotten gallery let’s go see it, find the bits we like, laugh at the rest, and then collapse in the café (flat white for me, please - and an eccles cake if there's one to be found). Just be warned: if there’s a dance floor, I’ll race you to it - and will probably win the race, even in heels.
I'm happily independent, yet relish partnership (i.e. I can hang my own shelves, but wilI happily take turns holding the ladder). If you’re looking for fake tan, false eye-lashes and fuzzy-felt eyebrows, then move right along, as I’m more "girl-next-door" natural than WAG – but I do scrub up well (and quickly!) to make you proud.
Can't abide daft perfume adverts, unkindness, rudeness or aberrant apostrophes. My Desert Island discs include Tchaikovsky, Genesis, Martina McBride, Beethoven, Benny Goodman , Kate Rusby and Bruch (is that list eclectic, or just indecisive...?)
Overall, I’m 50% Golden Retriever (classic soft coat, friendly, kind, waggy tailed, well-behaved), and 50% Jack Russell (bouncy, enthusiastic, somewhat untrainable but absolutely loyal). Of course if you're more of a cat person that won't mean a thing - but hopefully you get my drift.
