About him
Divorced 9 years ago; two adult sons of whom I am very proud living with partners. One is also an elite sportsman.
Two 'grandcats'.
My friends and former colleagues would probably describe me variously as reserved, inspiring, tenacious, supportive, generous, adventurous (within reason), glass half-full, reliable, foodie, happy in the kitchen.
I love dogs, especially the giants; present circumstances make having one impractical.
Cruised extensively. I needed to try new things a few years ago and started trekking. I bit off more than I could chew tackling Kilimanjaro in 2013, never having trekked before, but had such fun that I did the Inca Trail in early 2014 and cycled 250 miles over 5 days (= slowly!) in Vietnam and Cambodia in late 2014 and a similar ride in India in November 2015, hiked the first 69 miles of the Pennine Way in 2017 and the Southern part of the Corfu Trail in 2019. Equally had great fun walking in the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales in recent years, and ticking Scafell Pike off my 'to do' list. More of the UK to explore year by year.
I've let the cycling slip over the last year or so; keen to get back on that when the weather improves. I have a hybrid bike, manual not an Ebike, and happily go along at 10-12mph.
My bucket list seems to get longer every day!
What else? I play the euphonium in two local brass bands. I sing in a decent chamber choir. I have been a charity trustee and treasurer and done other forms of charity and community work including being a kitchen volunteer at Crisis at Christmas for 6 years.
I am rarely without a camera in my hand when out walking but as I have two hands, that leaves one to hold one of yours! Cheesy or what??
I'll leave my many imperfections until we've actually met!
PS since my eyes were 'done' in 2021 I now only wear readers or sun glasses.

Non-smoking (that's a real deal breaker!), fun-loving, emotionally intelligent woman with a positive outlook on life. Ideally no taller in heels than me. She will own a well-used pair of walking boots and maybe a similar bike.

If you also like crosswords of all forms, quizzes, steak tartare (to be fair I have so far only known one woman to tick that box) as well then I can only hope you don't also live an impractical distance away.
