About her
I'm an indepedent, outgoing person who is caring, thoughtful, easy-going and fun-loving. I'd also add that I'm honest, decent, loyal and trustworthy.
My interests include writing (poetry and prose) and I've been an active member of various writing and Poems & Pints circles for over 10 years. It's a pastime that gives me great pleasure and a good social life. I love the Arts in general -- film, theatre, music, dramas and documentaries, a good book. Added to that, I'm fascinated by politics and take an interest in current affairs. I enjoy travel, with a particular love of France and Italy -- the richness of the architecture, landscapes, food and wine, through to the languages themselves.
Other things I enjoy include walking, drinks and eating out at country pubs, visiting National Trust etc. properties and gardens, weekends in the Lake District.
I've worked in publishing for 25 years, the past 19 of those as a freelance Technical and Scientific Editor, but also involved in editing books and journals for the marketing and advertising industry. I'm still running my business on a full-time basis.
I'd say I'm quite a spiritual person but not greatly into organised religion, although I do attend church on 'high days and holidays'. I'm quite trendy and still enjoy fashion and try to keep up with modern music and technology.

About her ideal match
I think it's difficult to put this into words, as chemistry is something that can't be defined. But I'm certainly drawn to people who don't take themselves too seriously, aren't arrogant or full of themselves and who like a good laugh. I find very loud, show-offy people hard to tolerate.
I like easy-going people who can be flexible and open-minded and are not set in their ways. I also like guys who look a bit trendy (and certainly don't do Dad dancing!).
Thoughtfulness and kindness are also important -- I'm still a sucker for gentlemanly ways, like opening a door for a lady (although am quite modern as regards paying my way).
I do like a bit of romance, though I'm not 'slushy'. Someone intelligent and interesting, courteous and funny would sum up my ideal date I guess.
