About him
Having spent over thirty years working in advertising I am now writing short films, developing TV concepts with ITV and writing a thesis on British crime film for my PhD. As such I hope I have kept my childish enthusiasm for the world and all that's in it. My last short film was shown out-of-competition at Cannes.
I enjoy the good things in life and would like to share them with someone as a friend and perhaps a lover. Being on my own is fine but how much better is it when you do things with a kindred spirit.
Traveling is a special passion and recently I have been to the West Indies, Greece, South Africa, India, Australia, France and Italy. My last trip was in July when I went to Umbria to learn how to cook the perfect lobster risotto.The result? Not bad! My best dish, though, is slow cooked belly of pork with honey and cumin crackling. Yum.
This year, Sri Lanka in October, I have fallen in love with seeing wild animals in their own environment, seen 4 out the Big 5 but still haven't seen a leopard, hence Sri Lanka where leopards are supposedly 'thick on the ground' even though many of them hide in the trees!
Which is a great way into to the fact that I have lived and worked in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Sydney and Melbourne as well as London and have spent almost more time out of GB than in it.
My favourite 'first night out' would be an on-the-edge modern play or dance performance, someone like the Hoftesh Schecter Company, at Sadlers Wells or a play such as INK at the Almeida followed by a healthy 'discussion' with my partner about what we had just seen over tapas and dry sherry (or two) at Morrito in Exmouth Market.
Then? Well, I'm a 'big hug' person so hopefully that would be on the agenda.
Recently I have been diagnosed with spinal stenosis and peripheral neuropathy which has slowed me down a bit but, hey, at the speed I was traveling that's probably a good thing and it's certainly not going to stop my adventures.

In short, I'm looking for a partner who combines fire and passion with the need for hugs and cuddles. Someone I can go with to the theatre, Saddlers Wells, the cinema, good restaurants, away for a weekend in Paris, away for a month in a villa in Italy. But most of all someone I can love, laugh and be best friends with.
