About her
I am a widow, but without baggage. I am content with my life but miss male company and the positive effect that love and harmony can have on life but, more so, the spontaneity of "do you fancy going/doing ...".
Hopefully, my friends would describe me as loyal, intelligent, intuitive, sensitive, and with a good sense of humour which is not at the expense of other people's feelings. Although mature, I am youthful and optimistic in outlook and attitude, and I strive for a realistic balance. I'm just as happy dressed for that special occasion at, say, the theatre or a restaurant, as I am mucking out the horses or taking the dogs for a muddy walk through the woods. I would be just as content enjoying an intimate dinner for two at Quat'Saisons as I would sitting in the car, on a wind and rain torn Cornish quayside, eating fish and chips out of the wrapper.
I love to snuggle up on the sofa with a glass of wine, watching the flames dancing in my inglenook, sharing with friends, but can also be an adrenalin-junky e.g. abseiling for charity. I like most types of music be it jazz, classical, soul, R&B and even some house occasionally! I enjoy TV but, preferably, something that stimulates the old grey matter, be it educational, fiction or sport, e.g. QI, Only Connect, NCIS, Criminal Minds, show-jumping and rugby.
About her ideal match
I believe that chemistry is the most important ingredient, and this can take on many guises depending on the level of relationship. Personality rather than looks is my preference, but how one deals with their looks can suggest something about the personality within. Sorry, I'm not too comfortable with OTT flamboyancy.
My 'ideal' man? ... an erudite 65-75 year old, perhaps with the looks of Martin Shaw, speaking like the man in the Drambui advert - "Les oranges ..." , (if you can't remember that, you are too young! lol), singing like Michael Buble, having private boxes at Hickstead and Twickenham and having the optimistic compassion of Noel Fitzpatrick. ... OK, back in the room! Although I can daydream, I am also a realist so, even if that person did exist maybe they would be just TOO perfect. Anyway, they would, no doubt, be looking for someone other than me or live on the other side of the World! We all have our flaws and I hope there are others out there who would accept mine as I would theirs ... apart from ... sorry, no smokers ... and able to tolerate my (very bad) attempts as I practise on my sax (ear plugs can be provided). Life can be short so let's explore and share.
