Hello, Kia Ora! Originally I'm from New Zealand (Hobbitland) and made in America of Maori and assorted European parentage. I perceive and interpret the world around me differently with being raised within the Maori cultural beliefs, behaviours and values which are still important to me, together with some Catholic influences.
I'm naturally warm, friendly, happy, cheerful, affectionate, kind, playful, cheeky, respectful, occasionally fiery. I love laughing until my tummy hurts; deep, honest and meaningful conversations, and the company of different people.
I've a love-hate relationship with my brain in following my heart, intuition and instincts with what feels right to me above any logical, critical reasoning. I'm comfortable with emotions, love wholeheartedly and express my feelings and thoughts openly and honestly. I'm a curious, tactile-kinaesthetic learner having studied two disciplines, with one to PhD level.
I've a form of Spina Bifida and experienced the joys and challenges of travelling the world, as well as learning to walk again using my creativity and resourcefulness with quiet determination after an accident 5 years ago when my legs felt they'd forgotten how - I sometimes use crutches.
I loathe dishonesty, disrespect, prejudice, cruelty and injustice, believing true beauty comes from the heart and soul. It's the grace a person carries within them, their actions saying more than words, showing me who you truly are with life is a mixture of happy, sad, heartbreaking and breathtaking moments.
A few things I love: Being barefoot, by the beach, rivers and in the country; snuggling my partner, watching movies, listening to music and playing my beautiful Cello; sewing, cooking, swimming, yoga, daydreaming and contemplating; the ballet, museums, galleries, exploring foreign places and watching the All Blacks trounce the other team.
I'm Polynesian cuddly/Dawn French Vicar of Dibley with a Maori Tattoo and make-up free.
About her ideal match
There is something so attractive about a positive, quietly confident, gentle person with a soft-side who isn't egotistical or macho looking for a loving and fulfilling long-term monogamous relationship, and who enjoys life and is open to accepting a romantic partner with respect and appreciation for the diversity I have.
I value emotional availability and intelligence more in someone, who is comfortable being open and honest with their feelings and thoughts, and whom is also faithful, dependable, kind, considerate, affectionate and respectful. Although, I also value a keen intellect (not necessarily the kind you get from going to university or reading books).
Someone with a quick wit and good sense of humour that is neither cruel or sarcastic. Compassion for both people and animals is essential, as is an animal lover - I've cats with special needs and sometimes I foster special needs cats until they find a loving Forever Home.
Someone who wants children as I'd like to have a child again (I'm an Angel Mummy). Also someone open to eating vegetarian foods when we are together, as I have severe food allergies to animal proteins.
- Darwin's "Missing-link" found swinging from the Light-fittings every weekend.
- Egotistical, macho, narcissistic, Machiavellian types.
- Smokers or anyone addicted too (past or present) illicit or prescribed drugs, alcohol, or gambling.
- Someone wanting to email endlessly with no intentions of meeting in person.
- Someone wanting "another knicker-knotch on the bedpost".
