About her
After more than 30 years in Cambridge, I have recently moved to Worcester. Less than ideal circumstances at the moment for starting a new life, but I am going to start laying the foundations and hope that 2021 is a better year for everyone!
I have this dream of coming home from work, sharing the news of the day with my partner while cooking dinner together and perhaps enjoying a glass of wine. Is this something that only happens in films and on TV? I do hope not. I've been on my own for a long time now but I'm not prepared to accept that this is it. Please prove me right!!
I'm quite a home-body but I think this is partly down to being single - it would be great to get out more and try new things. I have plenty of friends and of course I do go out, enjoying the usual things - films, theatre, dinner out and so on. Weather permitting, I like to get out into nature, it feeds my soul and I always feel better for it. I'd like to walk more at the weekends, and I plan to join a walking group for proper hilly walks now that decent hills are much closer to home!
My favourite things include (in no particular order) dark chocolate, gin and tonic, inspirational music, city breaks, a good book, spring, walking or gardening with the sun on my back, helping people, John Finnemore, my family, Italy and many more. Did I mention gin and tonic? ;-)
About her ideal match
Kindness, tolerance and honesty have to be my top priorities in a partner. I'd love to meet someone who will take the initiative from time to time and say, "Let's go to xxx for our holidays" or "I've booked us a table at yyy restaurant". I think it's important that partners have their own interests as well as things they enjoy doing together.
I'd love to meet someone who has been lucky enough to have children, although of course at our age I'd expect them to be fairly grown up by now! I'm afraid I'd find it very difficult to be with someone who smokes - sorry.
