About her
First let me say that, despite the photo, I'm not actually a cowgirl (and I'm sorry if that disappoints you). Really I spend my time dreaming up plots and playing with dialogue. I'm a writer of non fiction books, with some of the gaps filled in. I've written books about circuses, nuns and redheads. Not all in one volume, although they might have sold better if they had been. Anyway I have dabbled in the telly world too. Producing/directing/developing documentaries. It's all story telling really.
When I'm not tapping away, I'm singing. I have a rather low voice. Harmonies are my thing. I like singing old church music, the more miserable the better. I hope that's not too scary. Just to reassure, I can be found at festivals, and gigs. I'm also partial to a bit of dancing. I've actually kept my New Years resolution to learn to tango. A fantastically filthy dance...
I'm an urban creature and find London's history fascinating. I've found a walking tour which is like an intellectual pub crawl - genius! But I live by the river and escape to my favourite spot on the coast in Norfolk to think and write under the big sky. I like having adventures, e.g. this year I've danced salsa in Havana, been to a rodeo in Arizona, and walked the Amalfi coast. I'm off to a remote Scottish Island soon. Are these the sorts of things that appeal?
I have children, but they are like self-cleaning ovens, rather independent. My friends are very important to me, although obviously there is a vacancy for a special friend...
I am slightly taller than average and quite slim. I run around the towpath sometimes, and zip around on my bike. For better or worse I'm ignoring that thing about getting rid of the long hair and short skirts when you reach forty. I have a convertible car, and have vowed never to have a proper roof again. It's that feeling of having the wind in your hair. Is this beginning to sound like a mid life crisis? I'm going to stop right now...
