Midway along this journey of our life, umty umty umty um....
I forget the rest; something about waking up in a wood. Well, I still think I'm halfway through life, even if Dante wrote that when he was a lot younger.
I live a laid back life in my tiny cottage near the top of a hill in a Somerset village with my art, books, music and very friendly terrier. I spend most my time doing the sculpture & drawing I always wanted to do. I also drive into nearby Bath to start the week afternoons working in an art museum, I love having conversations with complete strangers ('we learn we are each other's blanks').
Having said that, I crave the space and quiet to create and can lose myself drawing or forming a lump of clay. I've recently discovered I'm eligible for cheap tickets to the Theatre Royal in Bath, but don't really feel motivated to go on my own. (I'm told I scrub up well for plays, concerts or private views).
Conventionally well (state) educated I was offered a place at art school but instead went to university; maintaining my artistic and intellectual hinterland has always been more important than jobs, achievements or social status.
Except: a family legend says that my ancestors were bandits in the Somerset levels in King Alfred's time, yes, those ones, they made cakes... (I can cook two or three dishes really well, but not cakes). Probably still got that bandit mentality in my genetic makeup.
I've had a disability for the last 40 years or so - seems normal to me, I'm highly independent, keep myself in shape (I do a bit of stretching and exercise bike work every morning) it puts things in perspective I sort of like the kind, pugnacious but empathetic, resourceful person it's made me into.
My guilty secrets are listening to catchy euro pop on Monocle Radio (internet station) while I work, Crosswords and playing backgammon.

Oh I don't know. It would help if you were irreverent and creative yourself with words, pencil or clay; or sharper than a sackful of weasels. You'd had a good education or were looking out of window during one.
Primarily a country person, you still have a civilised outlook, enjoy classical music (not a deal breaker) listening to the radio (3 or 4) rather than watching TV.
