About her
So tricky to do this , It's difficult to find the words attempting to describe oneself . Now I work less, I do love to walk or cycle in the countryside or pretend to know what I'm doing in my garden.On a grey day I enjoy museums and art exhibitions or a matinee in the cinema or the theatre ..It feels so decadent ! I also love an excuse to stay in by the woodburner reading or watching box set dramas. I enjoy entertaining ,occasionally a trip to London to enjoy a theatre or music performance . I enjoy yoga Pilates and swimming too .My grown children will always be first in my heart, however I do feel like it's time also to have my own life and think about myself at last.
Friends would say I'm loyal, a giggler ,a good listener ,fiercely independent on the outside meanwhile underneath very sensitive and wise .
Until the Covid got me in 2020, I was a multitasking careerist.Whizzing everywhere, a hugely busy person .Unfortunately ,since Covid ,I've had to reassess life and accept a slowed down version of myself.Apparently though- my smile and presence can still light up a room .( **this from a long lost friend at a reunion ) .Her words ,definitely not mine .
This year I've been to Glasgow on a short holiday ,a retreat in Dorset for some R and R after Nursing my lovely Mum late last year and then New York in April to visit my daughter .I find it pretty tricky to put myself in a typical ' box" really .
I wear no makeup just as a heads up , as for some people that's important apparently. I do enjoy feeling smart for a night at the Theatre or dinner however .
In my youth a punk ,a Radical Midwife and far too trusting .My passions in latter years have shifted. I was hugely upset by Brexit and our Government generally on so many levels .As a glass half full person ,I'm avidly awaiting our reunion with Europe and a change of Government .
Love a great drama, play or film - Radio plays too .
My worst vice is a secret addiction to old Agatha Christie programmes on ITV 3 -just discovered them in Lockdown !
