About him
For a laugh, I applied for the 2018 series of BBC1's 'The Apprentice'. The first task on audition day was to talk for 30 seconds about why I should be Lord Sugar's business partner. I found it surprisingly easy to adopt the appropriate mindset and brag about how my sporting success combined with my business acumen (I'm a qualified chartered management accountant), are the perfect tools to make me the ideal candidate. I think I also said I'd be the Barbara Windsor to his Sid James and we'd be a huge hit doing Carry on Trading. That was enough to get me through to the next (interviews) round where it was then deemed that I was too nice to be on the show.
That scenario came to mind because I'm now effectively being asked 'why should I be your life partner?'. Now, tempting as it is to big myself up Apprentice-style (eg "I'm the James Bond of the online dating world"), that would, of course, be very crass and highly inappropriate. I do however have the kudos of being able to say I'm officially too nice for The Apprentice :)
Aside from being too nice for Lord Sugar, I'm also easy going, independent, adventurous, honest, caring and probably the James Bond of the dating world. I'm a natural introvert but I'm not afraid of trying anything new. My main interests are athletics, music and the arts. I still compete for my local athletics club (and occasionally for GB Masters) and I'm a member of both the Southbank and Barbican centres.
About his ideal match
It's difficult to be too prescriptive as you never know until you spend a bit of face-to-face time with someone whether you're going to click. It's that elusive chemistry. It would be nice to meet someone who's independent and who's passionate about something which doesn't necessarily have to be anything that I'm into. I also value politeness, tolerance and a sense of fun.
This section makes me think of that really cheesy 1977 soul classic 'Float On' by The Floaters. If one uses that as the template for successful wooing then the verse I would write for myself would go like this:
"Capricorn! And my name is Milson. Now I like a woman with low self esteem. Someone who wouldn't mind being seen out in public with me. Now if you feel you fit that description baby, then, hmmmmmmm, take my haaaand. Come with me baby to Love-land. Let me show you how sweet it could be, sharing your love with me......"
