About him
Although I'm 'Down to earth', my friends would also say "Warm, happy,extremely sociable, loving, outgoing, kind, protective and generous". Though mentally a very very tough guy, I have a huge respect and sensitivity for others.
Motivation and intelligence has led to a very successful career as a Personnel Director and Management consultant.
I have a huge range of interests from the Arts, to Music to Travel to Fashion to Writing to Conversation to Interior design to Dancing (most weekends) etc etc etc.
I'm fit and and very interested in Sports, though I don't necessarily expect the same of a partner. As a weekend dancer, a partner would be great and also I would love to return to Bridge.
A Francophile and a student of French history. (I'm into history in general). Love the London Arts Exhibitions, conversation, classical music, opera,and pop.
Widely travelled throughout Europe and long haul to Hong Kong(my son lives there), Singapore, South Africa (a few times), Brazil et al. Tend to be more comfortable in edgy situations than most.
Now doubling the size of my house in this lovely part of the world. It's too big for me at the moment. Yes there is some logic to it - somewhere- I think ? I live three hundred steps from England's most beautiful bridge.
My Grandkids reckon I'm fun as did this elegant lady I was dancing with on board. "You know, you're not a bit like my husband"."How so ?", says I (In some fear and trepidation). " 'Cos he's a miserable b........d!".
I've had the experience of a lovely marriage. I'd love to do it again with the right person. And if I don't come across as a sensitive romantic who's never let a loving shoulder pass by without a tender kiss, who's never missed a weekend without flowers, who's rearranged the furniture to sit close and hand in hand in the evening - then I've missed myself altogether.
(Two months ago suffered prolapsed spinal disc in Gym. Now almost fully recovered but lost a stone in the meantime. Hence new John O'Gaunt photo in blue anorak).

Because so many ladies mention 'fun' on their Profiles I asked my three eldest Grandkids to rate me on a scale 0 to 10. One said I'd give you twelve if I could. One said I've deducted 1.5 points from ten because of sparkiness (whatever that means). And one said 0. (He's got a 1st Class Hons degree but he's an idiot. He also happens to be my best friend !)
