My profile name is OakAshChestnut as I own a small wood (5 acres) and am at peace and relaxed when playing with chain saws, or preparing a log fire. When they ban log fires I will bereft.
I live in a small village near Stratford upon Avon. Why Stratford? The theatre, I work in theatre and film, and my eight year old daughter is at school in Stratford. I go to London a fair bit for work, staying with my 22 year old daughter
I have been writing theatre for twenty years or so. This gives me some chances to travel - New York, mainly. I don't take up these travel offers as inevitably one has to stand talking to local lord mayor all night. But it could be fun with someone I liked, and who liked me.
Politically I'm complex, basically liberal, but I can't read the Guardian for fear of a violent reaction.
I'm trying to find someone that I can spoil - cook for, massages, treats, flowers and the rest.
About his ideal match
My ideal match would be a woman who has probably had her children, or doesn't want children, educated, independent, fairly liberal but not a virtue signalling conformist.
She will have her own life, and family, but ready for the next adventure. I would be disappointed if she were glued to her smart phone all day. She'd prefer to be outdoors; understand the importance of sport, especially cricket, and the hold that it has on the male brain; be interested in theatre and cinema; and possibly have her own creative output.
So, I'm not asking for that much.
