I am an adventurous quite outdoorsy type. I was a keen sportsman in my youth but nowadays my activities are more sedentary although I still like to think I can cut the mustard. I love walking and have completed several long distance trails both here and abroad. Before retiring I bought a sailing boat, taught myself to sail and have since been to Scotland and Brittany. I live in the countryside and enjoy watching sports, countryside pursuits, gardening and bridge.I like to relax some evenings sharing a good meal and a bottle of wine in front of a roaring fire.

It is difficult to put into words who that special person would be but I will know when I meet them. It might include a taste for adventure and travel, a person who knows their own mind and enjoys debating but is not domineering or over assertive, a good mixer but is equally happy in their own company.A keen sailor or someone willing to learn under a calm patient teacher would be a real bonus.
