My best friends say that I have a soh, can be trusted and have a caring nature. I used to be a manager in the care industry working with amazing people with learning difficulties and loved my job because It was challenging and I had real satisfaction from helping the people we supported to become independent and have a quality to their lives. However, following the demise of my parents I took the opportunity to retire for some me time. I spend time at the gym working out with my trainer and a varied programme of activities. I also enjoy martial arts, Pilates, cycling, walking and have just joined the local hospice choir where I also volunteer. As an animal lover I also volunteer at the Blue Cross.I love to read books - novels and autobiographies. I don't have favourite authors just enjoy a good plot, excellent usage of words and unexpected endings - murder/mystery;psychological thrillers;historical. Happy in jeans & trainers; formal outfits; bare feet and casual wear. I listen to a wide range of msic from classics (Vivaldi) to rock & pop (Evanescence, Gwen Stefani, Scissor Sisters). I take care with my appearance and do the best I can with nature's canvas - friends say I always look smart even when wearing casual. I have a delightful grandson and granddaughter. My family is close and we keep in regular contact. Fun to me is a visit to the cinema or theatre; a good meal and walk; art galleries; a cup of coffee with a friend, just enjoying life without the pressures. My ideal man would be someone who has his own interests, is independent, likes to laugh and understands my needs and way of life..

I'm not in a rush to dive into a relationship, physical or otherwise, so, let's just start as friends and see what happens. I like a man to have his own interests and have confidence in himself. I'd like to do things with you but not on a 24/7 basis as I firmly believe that we each need our own time and space.
