I travel when time and finance allow. Where possible rather than take a plane to "get" somewhere I'd rather take the train to "go" somewhere. For me the connection, the journey is important, whether is is crossing a fog bound Maine, rolling across the Kazakh step, winding my way down the Rhine valley or slithering along the Italian coast, places connect together and the connection tells me something about the people, the places and the civilisation.

Someone who is relaxed enough in herself to have some idea who she is. An individual who has her own interests but doesn’t mind sharing. Experience of a large family (I have brother, sister and lots cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces). Knows her own mind but it prepared to accept other points of view (within reason!). Reasonably well travelled with unusual stories to tell. Someone who is looking to add someone to their life, not to complete themselves or change them.

Luke & I first met in 1987 when we were in a school production of Cabaret and he has been one of my most treasured friends ever since. Luke is incredibly knowledgeable, rational, engaging and passionate about the things that interest him, which are many and varied. He is loyal, honest, fair-minded and caring. He will tend to go out of his way to make things easier for others and is not always sure how to read emotional signals so if you want to get to know him better, be honest and transparent about how you feel. Luke has a great deal to offer and really deserves some romance!

Luke .... what can I say? A true character! Luke is a really friendly and interesting chap, he's got a lively personality and shows kindness, integrity and courtesy in equal measure. Very witty and quick thinking, he brightens the atmosphere with intuitive humour. Luke doesn't do things by half; if he's cheerful, it's in abundance and if he's stressed, it's... well, evident. Transparency in the best possible context. Whatever mood he's in, however, Luke never ever fails to extend warmth and consideration to anyone who needs it - a true gent. Highly intelligent, he's comfortable in his own skin with a real sense of adventure and is committed to a life worth living featuring travel, family and interests. He's inquisitive and funny and oh, partial to chocolate too; what's not to like?! He values solitude too and appreciates the need for reflection. But the first word that comes to mind when I think of Luke? FUN!
