About her
Having only moved to Berkshire relatively recently I was busy finding out about local life when everything stopped. My life had been ticking over nicely, I bought a house and I am living near my son and family, I had a date to finish work, I had joined a Nordic walking group and was being introduced to new places by the amazing instructors. I was meeting the other members and making friends. I had entered the Reading half marathon and planned several overseas trips to various European countries as well as staycation breaks in the U.K.
Then, the pandemic! So many of those things I had in place were no longer there or had to be postponed and who would have thought that a holiday put back from May 2020 until May this year would still be threatened? Rhetorical question of course and maybe I will still get to do the half marathon which is now in November 2021. In the meantime I walk a lot and every now and then have a go at the garden trying the Geoff Hamilton method of path laying and horticulture. I’m not above doing a bit of DIY with mixed results, I can make kitchen cabinets but not so good at hanging things on the wall. I used to scuba dive and water ski, not for a few years, but I love the water. I like walking up and down mountains; I live to travel. I enjoy a good book and really miss idle conversation over a good meal. I’m a thoughtful, kind, affectionate, reasonably fit person who would really like to meet someone to help me out of this lockdown rut.
My photos are all since 2019 apart from the one at my sons wedding which is a couple of years before. The one in boots was last spring, the sunrise was the summer solstice in June, the only bit of sun that morning! So I am as advertised!

A new week and we are still living in a virtual world, In real life I am a walker I love history and travel, I enjoy conversation but find I am getting out of the habit. I like a hug, not optimistic there but hopeful one day. So the challenge is for someone to bounce me back into my happy place however that may be achieved. These are my years for me and my long awaited retirement, I want to go looking for new horizons with a like minded mate by my side.
