About him
I am looking for a travelling companion for my drives across Europe. These are leisure trips, I do not travel for work. The route usually involves driving to or from Italy/Slovenia and passes through various countries en route, i.e. France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, very occasionally also Spain and Portugal. I travel up to 7 times a year, each trip lasts from 4 up to 10 days, depending on the state of my finances and leftover days off at work.
What I am looking for in a travelling companion:
- that we like each other as human beings, i.e. it goes without saying that some sort of intellectual compatibility is needed and that we would need to meet in London a number of times first to establish that
- basic solvency, i.e. being able to pay for own accommodation and sustenance or share the costs thereof. Being able to pay for flight to/back from the further most point of the route. Ability to contribute to fuel costs and motorway tolls is welcome but optional.
- love for exploring European cities, their cuisine and drinks
- shared taste in music would be super, but is optional, as is interest in European languages
Anything else comes under the "Let's see what happens" checkbox. I am single and open to all the possibilities, including staying single.
Update: I am stuck in Slovenia due to CoVid situation (a new lockdown photo) - may be driving or flying back to UK in October. My travels will continue ASAP, so still looking for company. Unsurprisingly I've been looking at youtube a lot recently, mostly at Exkhart Tolle and Rupert Spira. Also Sadhguru but I've gone a bit orf him..
Re: music, I adore Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Ry Cooder. When I really like a song I can put it on repeat and sometimes I do not tire of it for hours-are you similar? Re: other interests, I like visiting distilleries in Italia and tasting grappas and amaros

you are intelligent, independent, polite, sensitive and considerate, you have a travelling itch, you like Europe, you like trying most foods and drinks, you have space in your life that could be filled with these trips and hopefully being on the road would bring you as much joy as it does to me
