About him
I'm a self-confessed geek. My happiest times are usually playing board games with friends. Failing that, my next favourite pastime is dressing up and socialising. I'm quite traditional in style, so give me an excuse to dress up vintage garments and I'm a happy man. And if there's not an excuse to dress up, simply an evening in the pub chatting and debating amongst friends is always an enjoyable evening.
I love foreign politics and international relations, I have a fascination for what is happening around the world and how other people do things. So I love my job, which allows me to read and write about foreign politics all the time. I also love to travel and visit places I've not seen before. South America was the dream for the next big trip, currently indefinitely delayed due to lockdown!
I enjoy music, especially electronica, goth, or just some cheesy pop. I enjoy going to gigs, and love karaoke more than I probably should. I'm also terrible at it. I read a fair bit, usually either political science or history, or else some pulpy science fiction! I occasionally dress up for some am-dram as well.
My job is hardly my life, but it is important to me. It is really important to me that I am doing something to help others. I love to learn as well; I go to lectures around London when I have the time, the retirement dream is doing a doctorate for fun!
