About him
It has been quite some time since I have been in a relationship. This has been for various reasons, but primarily because I have been the carer for my younger brother since the beginning of 2018 until his passing away in August of that year following a brain tumour . Now , after over a year, I am approaching my future life positively, but with my eyes wide open and, hopefully, an open mind.
I am not here for serial dating, NSA or one night stands. I am content as I am , have various interests, friends and a decent social life; yet I am not complete. My needs replicate those of many others , in that I want to meet a partner with whom I feel completely at ease, able to talk about absolutely anything; yet feel a mutual spark. I believe I have values of compassion, fairness, truth, decency and fidelity and would expect the same.. Born a Yorkshire Brit, I am also a proud European and left of centre politically. I believe in the urgency of climate change and cherishing our Earth as well as acknowledging that other cultures living amongst each other can enhance and enrich our lives. I am neither indifferent to politics, nor can I be close to those who foster division and hostility or are indifferent to inequality or other people’s suffering.
I am a retired head teacher and also a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts. Physically, I am of slim build, a fit and adventurous divorced guy who loves music, is interested in alternative therapies and lifestyle. I enjoy keeping fit, being outdoors and in the countryside. I like walks.....but, as with dining, it isn't the same for one! Happy enough but missing conversation, cuddles and closeness.
I enjoy women's company and respect the intuitive way in which many women think. If there is a real spark and connection, I am not afraid of commitment.

I would hope that anyone I meet would share values and some interests too. I'd like to think that any future partner would be fairly independent, open minded and have a sense of adventure. The person I seek may or may not have children. If she does, I readily accept she comes as a package deal. I look for my equal ; a shared love and excitement in discovering each other. One more thing: sometimes the right person doesn't live close by. For the right person, I am open minded about living partly here in Yorkshire and partly somewhere else as well; though I will not forsake Yorkshire completely.
