I’m an engineer with a small niche business based in Harrogate. Over the years I’ve had a variety of different businesses and job roles giving me the chance to travel extensively and experience so many things.
I’m divorced with 2 children – my son has graduated and lives away from home getting started on a career. My 22 year old daughter still lives with me doing an OU degree and working.
Over the years I’ve become more certain of my character and the things that interest and matter to me. I’m pretty much vegetarian now and put effort into eating a good diet for my health. I exercise quite a bit and plan to take squash up again this winter.
I have a fun relaxed nature but am also reflective and can be serious – I’m getting better at choosing the right moments for each as I get older...
I enjoy travel but not always just to go on holiday or sit around. I like the idea of combining travel with interests, volunteering and activities. I am interested in meditation and have been on some short courses and a retreat – it’s a thing I’d like to explore a bit more, especially insight meditation with a view to self-improvement (goodness knows there’s scope). In the future, I’d like to spend some of my time doing things that benefit other people, I don’t feel like I’ve done enough of that.
I spend too much time working at the moment – partly to make a success of the business but partly to fill a vacuum. My intention is to achieve a good work/life balance and devote time to enjoying life with a partner.
