About him
I'm a practical down-to-earth guy with a love of nature, big skies, good cooking and the beauty of our coasts but all this needs sharing with a like-minded lady who likes being treated as a lady but doesn't mind muddy wellies or wet boat-shoes either.
I'm retired, busy and fulfilled except in that one special way, a companion to enjoy all this with.
I love to relax with a good book or slaving over a hot stove, watching a sunset or sunrise (especially from a boat) and am not much impressed with most TV.
I'm keen on conservation and love managing a small area of wildeness and especially woodland, much of which is self-planted.
But I long too for a first-mate to share sailing trips, bedding down at anchor as the evening flight of geese rend the dusk with their honking and waking at dawn to oystercatchers and curlews calling - or maybe the dark waves rushing past as another day dawns with anticipation of moules frites ahead...

I imagine she'll be 45-60, confident and comfortable in her own skin, intelligent, stable and kind. A thoughtful and kind person, an explorer, a lover of food and wine, foreign travel as well as the British countryside and above all, someone who doesn't sweat the small stuff either, relationships are built on trust and mutual regard imo, but someone to admire would be even better.
Someone to share museum visits and art galleries, get me skiing again, decadent lunches on the spur of the moment, a thinker and doer, and not much taken by conspiracy theories and facebook!
I love animals but not into having pets (as they restrict travel so much) or deep religion but otherwise I'll try to stay away from preconcieved ideas and see who actually turns up.
