I try to live the way I would like to be treated - with respect and honesty and loyalty, which I demonstrated over a 40 year marriage.
Being retired, I have the freedom for spontaneity, and to go where the whim takes me - Covid19 permitting - exploring new places, new ideas. Having spent a lifetime travelling, I’m trying to see a bit more of the UK, especially walking coastal paths. The Isle of Wight and Dorset are particular favourites, but anywhere with breath-taking scenery that stirs the soul, suits me……Somewhere that makes you feel insignificant!
If your passion is the early morning sun glinting off the snow-capped peaks towering above a Norwegian Fjord, we’ll get along fine – I love Norway and the Arctic, and if I can get to the Antarctic sometime soon – even better. Happy to do the tropics as well!
Interests include boating, aviation, Victorian engineering, walking and the National Trust, for which I am a volunteer ranger. I also belong to the RHS and visit Wisley regularly, but sometimes despair at the state of my own garden!
Oh yes, and the Telegraph crossword is a daily ritual which can leave the little grey cell wondering where all the rest have gone!
No interest whatsoever – football, TV soaps, rap music, and although I like seeing wildlife in its natural habitat, or indeed some zoos, I really don't feel comfortable with domestic pets.
