About her
I'm an artist with a background in philosophy and science. A sciencey artist, I guess. (I feel like saying you’re an artist comes across as a bit wafty and pretentious – but it’s my actual job.)
I'm also a photographer, musician, occasional scribbler, free-thinker, and more recently speaker – the polymath thing also sounds dead pretentious – but – I don’t know – I do the things... ooh - I also dance Lindy Hop. Kind of badly, but with great enthusiasm.
My humour is dry and dark. I swear a lot but I’m a very gentle soul. Temperamentally I'm a brew of sweet-natured but radical.
Conceptual things tend to interest me – art and philosophy, as well as science. I'm passionate about mountains and wilderness, and go crazy if I stay away too long. I'm also a music nut. Love animals. Leftie – but the old-fashioned liberal sort.
I'm based in Milton Keynes (I know, right?) but have few attachments here and long to escape! – I'm happy to travel, or move if I meet the right person. (It's not far to London, Oxford, Cambridge, etc.) (Love Glasgow, Scandinavia, Canada...)
A friend cast an eye over my profile and he said two things: 1) ‘be more braggy' – so – I've had artwork in Tate Modern – it may have been only 4 days but I plan to dine out on it literally forever. I went to Oxford, but I'm not a twat (braggy with caveats…) and 2) you’re much sweeter in real life than you come across in your profile 🤨. Meh. Sweet schmeet.

Someone who’s injected a little humour into their profile
I'm looking for someone intelligent, with whom I can laugh – someone dry and irreverent and subversive. Someone who loves music and mountains would be lovely.
Looks not a huge factor (although chemistry is). I’ve kissed a lotta frogs. I quite enjoyed it. But am equally happy for you to be the pretty one.
Basically, I'm a sucker for a deep thinker. Cognitive flexibility is also important. Kindness and empathy, too.
For the sake of pragmatism I have four-and-a-bit vetos:
1) Um, no religion – it’s not gonna work – I'm looking for someone who's baseline rational (at least when they're sober)
2) I think full-on Tories is probably a hard limit – see above
2-and-a-bit) I used to have no smokers just out of pragmatism, but my last boyfriend was a smoker and we made it work. (Well, obviously we didn't, but his smoking was incidental...)
3) Nobody who kills spiders. You’re a psychopath.
4) Definitely not the kind of twat who uses myers-briggs in a dating profile. Honestly, wtf?
