I am someone who is normally optimistic, who likes to stay active and enjoys taking on new challenges and rediscovering old favourites. I am generally positive and upbeat, as I feel life is to be lived not watched from the side-lines.
I've only ever lived in the countryside, but I do like visiting towns and cities for the urban recreation they offer.
Horses have been an important part of my life and I go racing and to other horse events when I can.
I've always been a bit of a speed freak and I'd be a willing pillion rider if the opportunity arose again.
I enjoy music festivals and concerts and like to go if there is a band I want to see or just to soak up the atmosphere.
I do not smoke and neither am I comfortable with heavy drinking; but I’m happy to share a bottle of wine over a nice meal or a glass of something at a local pub after a Sunday morning walk.
I like to travel and visit places of interest in the UK but I no longer feel the desire to travel abroad, other than to family in Canada.
I think my friends would say I am loyal and supportive to them and my family and that I am generally a kind and caring person.
About her ideal match
I'd like to meet a guy who finds life interesting and is enthusiastic about meeting each day. It would also be good to meet someone who has some different interests to mine, so we could share new adventures together. Equally I think it is important we spend time pursuing our own interests.
I value honesty, kindness and consideration for others feelings, as without those a relationship is probably unlikely to succeed.
Good conversation and a funny outlook on life can do a lot for a relationship: laughter is much better for a couple than tears and temper.
Smoking and heavy drinking are not activities I would want in a relationship, but I'm quite happy with drinking socially.
