About her
Recently retired from a professional career and hoping to make new memories with someone special.
Wondering how friends would describe me …I hope they might say that I am down-to-earth, practical, funny, warm, bright, nurturing, outgoing, entertaining, kind and generous (or am I dreaming).
I love nature and wildlife, and being outdoors gardening, walking or sightseeing. Converting part of my plot to a wild flower meadow has been a labour of love in recent times. I enjoy growing veg in my kitchen garden, with a bed for cut flowers to brighten up the house. Have dabbled in all kinds of ‘homestead’ stuff like beekeeping, wine making, preserves etc. My chilli sauces are legendary amongst friends and family. Each Autumn signals cider making when I rope in willing volunteers to help and sharing the spoils (some of the brews have been rather tasty). The trouble is that I now have too much produce for one person - and things are always better shared.
In my quieter moments I enjoy art, mainly doing watercolour and pastel work. Animal portraits are my favourites. Other crafts fill a few more idle moments. Easily enthralled by crosswords, quizzes, Popmaster - and the more recent Wordle. By the way, have you tried Nerdle yet?
Trying my best to keep fit since retiring from a very active career. Walking the dogs and practising yoga are my best efforts so far but I do promise to cycle more. We’ll see …
I have been fortunate to travel to many corners of the world, including lots of South America. Some places I would like to revisit, but there are plenty of others on my bucket list.
To bring in a cliché, life is short and now that work doesn’t dictate all that’s missing is a partner in crime.
