I am very social and have a great sense of humour. Reasonably fit and reasonably intelligent, thoughtful to all and enjoy walking and sport, plus socialising and weekly gym & pool.
I spent most of my working life as a Finance Manager in the motor industry until I volunteered early retirement in 2010. Up until lockdown in March, I continued to play squash once per week, but now that exercise has had to disappear, I try to keep fit through regular local woodland walks with or without friends, and when open, use the gym once or twice per week for cardio work and a little swimming. I have great friends and neighbours, mainly couples, all of whom supported me when my wife passed on in June 2019 and still do to this day. Despite having a great social circle, it can still sometimes get lonely and it would be nice to break up some of these lonely days and evenings with someone new and who could perhaps put a different perspective on life and offer different interests. Who knows what might happen next? In respect of holidays, I really like cruises or beach vacations in Greece, but am open to other ideas all except camping. I really enjoy a good conversation on most subjects, particularly on current affairs and always try to see both sides and try to inject a little humour where appropriate. My friends often call me Stavros the Geek on the basis that I tan fairly easily and then have a Mediterranean appearance. I am not necessarily looking for someone similar, but would like to have a meaningful and fun relationship. This may be on a nice country/coastal walks, on board a cruise ship or indeed anywhere where the two of us could enjoy each others company, particularly over a nice meal and a glass of wine.
