I love that quote from Cher and I believe in it.
I’m an optimist when it comes to love and most things in life. I’m also an upbeat and curious person with a wide range of interests and a good imagination. I imagine I’m Van Gogh when I’m outdoors landscape painting, or Annie Leibovitz when I’m taking photos, and I love art, literature and keeping up with the latest scientific developments. I support efforts to improve the environment and have done volunteer work on landscape reclamation projects in California and Patagonia where I spent weeks - on my knees mostly - crawling across that wild landscape rolling up old barbed wire fences so that wild life could move freely again. And locally, and far more easily, doing beach clean-ups on my local beach after a storm.

Life and work have taken me to the Middle East, South America, Europe and the USA with careers in geology, geophysics, medical research, teaching and TV and film production and I’m currently a freelance photojournalist.
It would be great to find a partner to share some of the things I enjoy doing such as walking- think of cliff tops with gulls wheeling and crying in the air, camping wild – remote locations with countless stars to gaze at at night, sailing - the mainsheet full and on a fast tack, rowing – all pulling together with a pub stop soon. But equally great would be to meet someone who has his own interests and passions and would like to share with me. I’m always ready to try new things. Being curious and willing to give something a go, especially if it takes me out of my comfort zone, is part of my nature – but sorry, no bungee jumping or skydiving, I’m scared of heights.
