About her
It's not easy to write about oneself in an objective way but I shall do my best.
I have a good sense of humour which I inadvertently seek in others! I have a healthy interest in the arts, being a bit of a culture-vulture, and like classical and early music (esp Baroque and opera), theatre, continental films etc and want to get to know Europe better. I currentlly spend a lot of time outdoors walking - though I am not too keen on rain or wind!
The aquisition of knowledge, communicating with friends and exchanging ideas are all very important to me. My interests have always been a big part of my life: I love art and dabble a bit in painting, visiting galleries, learning Italian! (I love all things Italian), and reading as much as time allows: these are all part of my life.
I don't watch much TV other than documentaries, and read mostly factual as well as other literature incl The Economist etc.
Our generation is increibly lucky in having the ability, education, knowledge, health and interest to travel nowadays as never before and hopefully will soon be doing so again soon (despite the dreaded and embarrassing Brexit!). I look forward to visiting friends abroad again, mostly in Europe and going to other places of interest once we are again let out (post Covid vaccine!).
I am an independent traveller, not a cruise or beach person and enjoy meeting people of different cultures as well.
I'm generally a positivist, an optimist, curious, and a good listener who also appreciates companionable silence at times! I'm generous and think that in the right company have a lot to give. If the above makes me seem a bit like a paragon of virtue, rest assured I am not!
The value of companionship and sharing is boundless. Life is short and there is so much to do: I'd like to make the best of it ideally in like-minded company.
